Wikiguilt

Does anyone else feel this way?

Say you are on WikipediA, or any large wiki. You click an interesting link that you think will just explain something simple. Instead you get redirected to a massively long page. For example, you click on a link about someone you’ve never heard of, but then it turns out that they were a bit player in the World War, so you get redirected to the page on WWII.

Nothing wrong with that itself, but then I feel like I should read the entire article, because if I don’t then that page will be marked as visited by my browser in the rest of WikipediA, despite the fact that I hadn’t read it. I feel sort of guilted into reading the whole thing. I feel the same way when it comes to reading a book: all or nothing.
