More HR software trouble, although this time it’s debatable if it was the manufacturer or the HR department users that caused it.

Applying to Global Foundries’ position I noticed this in the section on their (mandatory) privacy policy:


There really aren’t any options (you have to accept it to apply for positions), so this text should probably be deleted.

Aside from this, the company is clearly German or based there. One field (average annual salary at previous jobs) had a note that it was “not for German applicants”. The educational options were things that are never seen in English (“Dr. Ing.”) and a ton of majors were untranslated (“Chemie”). That kind of non-localization was definitely HR’s failure.
